JEE Main 2019: 7 quick tips to get 360/360 marks

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2019 from January 06, 2019, to January 20, 2019, in 258 cities across the nation. The first phase of JEE Main 2019 is just a week away and for a change, the students who are appearing for this examination are still in Class 12. They have to first undergo the pressure of their pre-board examinations in their schools and then a series of entrance examinations.
Most of the students would have another attempt at the JEE Main examination in the month of April, however, they would try to get the maximum marks in this attempt itself. Candidates would already be very anxious, perplexed on how to handle the last minute preparation. Last minute preparation always would be different from the last two years of preparation.

Make your strength stronger: This is not the time for the candidates to study any new area or the area that they are weak at.  Focus on subjects and chapters you are confident aboutTry to do maximum questions from these chapters and make it stronger The idea should be that you should not lose marks especially on the medium or easy questions from this chapter.

Solving Mock tests: Many recommend that you should use this time to solve mocks every day, but I would suggest that you could solve one mock every three days and more than solving it is important to examine the concepts where you went wrong and not making the same mistakes again. After each chapter revision, you could focus on questions from that chapter which has been in previous year JEE Main papers. When you are solving the mock tests, make sure that you take it as seriously as the actual JEE Main exam and solve it in the given time. So, make sure that you are not confused and the environment is also such that as it is going to be on the actual date. This would reduce your anxiety on the exam date.

Balancing SubjectsWhat should I concentrate more out of the three subjects? This is a repeated question which students ask every year, and my answer has always been, now is the time to concentrate on your favorite subject. Since the exam is equally divided between the three subjects, and the idea is to score maximum marks, concentrate on your favorite subject in the exam and try to improve your score. Remember, your mantra should be to score more.

Do not discuss: Do not discuss your preparation strategy with your peers during this time. Each one would have a different strategy and don't get swayed by others' strategy. Make your own and stick to it. Discussing your preparation with others would make you lose your self-confidence. Remember your mock scores do not matter, what matters is the final score of JEE Main, which is just another day.

Sleep well & relax: Do not forget to sleep well during this period; take healthy food (avoid packed or outside food) - you don't need any sickness during this period and relax. Don't study long hours, take small breaks, don't worry about timetable going awry; just relax and start afresh.

Examination day attitude: All strategies and preparation may go wrong as you do not know what the paper is going to be. So, be level-headed, read the instructions carefully, the pattern of examination may change - so be ready to accept it; mark your known questions initially, pick and choose your questions, do not fight with the difficult questions just leave them and go for the next, your question is waiting for you somewhere. Attempt your favorite subject first, keep your weakest subject in between and then take the third subject in that order in the examination. This would make you feel better and gain confidence in the early hour of the examination where you would be tenser. Also, remember that you could get more questions right in the subject you are weak at, so do not leave any subject unanswered, plan your time during the exam well.

Never give up and do not panic: You do not have to prove that you are a subject expert, remember what is more important is to ace the examination with maximum marks. To sum up, just go with the attitude that life is far better if you do not ace this exam, if you do have this attitude, you may come out successfully.

All the best for all students!!!
