Tips to study biology for NEET 2019 by Edumate Plus

The best-est way to get more than 300 marks in biology is to make your own handwritten notes in which you can make flow charts and shortcuts to learn important topics especially Krebs cycle, Glycolysis pathway etc.

Important Chapters in Biology for NEET

The most important units which will set a base in your preparation are Human physiology, Plant Physiology, Ecology, Genetics and Morphology of plants. Also in a few units like Ecology, Plant Physiology, Diversity in the living world, Biology in human welfare and Biotechnology, not even a single word outside NCERT is asked. So study these units only and only from NCERT!

After you are done revising a chapter, see the previous year questions of at-least 10 years to know the trend and the type of questions asked from a chapter. This will help you to test how much you remember about the chapter and will help you to work on your weak points. Going through the previous years questions is a MUST. It helps a lot in your preparation.

Practice Biology Questions in NEET Preparation

Plus one last thing which most people ignore is practicing MCQ’s. Practicing is equally important in Biology as it is in Physics and Chemistry. Trust me, in the exam hall, there are more chances of you not remembering what you read than remembering what you practiced. It has happened to me a lot. I may not remember a full chapter but I always remember the questions I practiced and the questions in which I had lost marks. Even in NEET, there were a hell lot of questions which I directly knew because of my mass practice of questions in biology.

But DO NOT attempt questions until you are fully prepared and have revised the chapter thoroughly. The best book to practice biology is NCERT At Your Fingertips. Even if you don’t buy a book or so, practicing all previous year questions and giving all your coaching institute tests would be enough. If you get extra time you can always practice more questions. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main 2019 application form for April session on February 8. Candidates appearing for the national level entrance examhttps://edumateplus.com/jeemain will have to submit the application form of JEE Main 2019 on or before the deadline. The last date to register is March 7 whereas, the deadline to upload the images and payment of application fee is March 8. Candidates will have to complete the application procedure by entering the required details, uploading the images and paying the requisite amount of application fee. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for JEE Main. The authorities will conduct JEE Main 2019 for April session between April 6 to 20.  January session of JEE Main 2019 has been concluded which was conducted from January 8 to 12. JEE Main 2019 (Second Attempt) Eligibility Criteria

Before proceeding towards filling the application form, do refer and meet the mentioned below JEE Main 2019 eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities:

·         Age Criteria: NTA has removed the age limit. However, candidates need to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2017, 2018 or should be appearing for the same in 2019 in irrespective of their birth date.

·         Qualifying Examinations: Must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2017 or 2018. Also, candidates appearing for class 12 board examination in 2019 will be also eligible for JEE Main 2019.

·         Subjects to be Qualified in Qualifying Examination: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject

·         Qualifying Marks for Admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs: Must score the minimum of 75% marks or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category minimum scores required is 65%.

·         For JEE Main Paper-II- Candidates seeking admission to the architecture course must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. No Diploma holder is eligible for the entrance exam.
